Nestcraft Architecture

A Calicut, Kerala based Multiple Award winning Architecture Studio, established in 2012, founded by Rohit Palakkal. The Architect graduated from University of Mumbai 2009 and is a Chartered Architect under Council of Architecture, India. [CA/2010/50237]. Nestcraft focuses on the design and execution of Architecture, Interiors, Landscape, Allied design and Engineering. The Studio has multidisciplinary members of professionals, including Architects, Civil Engineers, Project co-coordinators, Site Engineers, Graphic Designers etc. In addition to the key focus area of Residential projects, the office handles projects over a wide spectrum. Commercial complexes, Housing projects, Religious buildings as well Interior Designs and Landscape Designs. Apart from practice, Nestcraft is passionate in Educating Design. It delivers Workshops for Design students on the Theme/subject of Basic Design in Architecture and Understanding Architecture, Art, Lifestyle, Space, Environment, People and Materials. Rohit is a Visiting Faculty for Design in Various Architectural Colleges Since 2010.

Philosophy

Rohit’s design approaches try to explore the right mix of least Carbon footprint, recyclable, natural materials and passive lighting and ventilation, complementing its natural textures and colors to deliver an Artful feel. Light is the core idea for designing a building and he centralize the entire design around it, aiming to create maximum potential of the plot available. The space is supposed to serve the users not only in terms of functions, but also to make nature the core of the built. Architecture for Nestcraft is ‘Inventing Lifestyles’ in a macro level and in a micro level it is doing utmost justification to the Environment, Functionality and Practicality of the spaces and Architecture as an experience, a conscious response to the budget of the client and to innovate maximum within the limitations, to reduce usage of resources, materials, space and energy. Nestcraft look forward to reduce a square feet of built area and educate the user about that really not needed room in the design program.
